Decadent chocolate oatmeal cookies using cake mix.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup margarine
  • 0.5 cup shortening
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 0.25 cup water
  • 1 (18.25 ounce) package German chocolate cake mix
  • 2 cups quick-cooking oats
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C) and grease the cookie sheets.
  • Combine margarine, shortening, and brown sugar in a large bowl, cream until light and fluffy. Mix in egg and water. Incorporate cake mix until well blended, then fold in oats and chocolate chips. Spoon rounded portions onto cookie sheets.
  • Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes. Let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
