Indulge in decadent cherry chocolate brownies! Simple to make with a Betty Crocker™ brownie mix, loaded with maraschino cherries and chocolate chips for a gooey, chewy delight. Perfect for any party or bake sale with just 20 minutes prep time.
Ingredients:
  • 1 box (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Delights Supreme Original Brownie Mix
  • Water, vegetable oil and egg called for on brownie mix box
  • 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup coarsely chopped maraschino cherries, drained, patted dry
  • 2 tablespoons coarsely chopped maraschino cherries, drained, patted dry
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (or 325°F for dark or nonstick pan). Grease the bottom of a 9-inch square pan with shortening or cooking spray.
  • Prepare the brownie batter according to the instructions on the box, then gently fold in 1/2 cup of chocolate chips and 1/4 cup of cherries. Spread the batter evenly in the pan.
  • Bake for 28 to 31 minutes until a toothpick inserted 2 inches from the side of the pan comes out nearly clean. Sprinkle 1/4 cup of chocolate chips over the baked brownies and cool for 30 minutes.
  • Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of cherries over the top. In a small microwave-safe bowl, heat the remaining 1/4 cup of chocolate chips uncovered on High for 30 to 60 seconds, stirring halfway through, until the chips can be stirred smooth. Transfer melted chocolate into a resealable food-storage plastic bag and partially seal the bag. Cut a small tip from the corner of the bag and drizzle chocolate over the top. Allow it to stand for about 2 hours or until the chocolate is set. Cut into 4 rows by 4 rows and store loosely covered in the refrigerator.
