Indulgent Christmas trifle sure to please everyone for dessert.
Ingredients:
  • 825g canned sliced peaches
  • 62.50 ml brandy
  • 450g panettone
  • 250g strawberries, sliced
  • 1kg carton vanilla custard
  • 252.50 gm thickened cream
  • 82.50 ml flaked almonds, toasted
  • Strawberries, to serve
Instructions:
  • Separate canned peaches from their juice, keeping 1/3 cup aside. Mix the saved juice with brandy. Cube the panettone into bite-sized pieces.
  • Transfer the panettone to a 2.5 litre serving dish and generously drizzle with the brandy mixture. Layer with peach slices and sliced strawberries before pouring over the vanilla custard.
  • Chill in the fridge for 3-4 hours or overnight. Whip thickened cream till stiff peaks form. Drizzle over and garnish with toasted flaked almonds and fresh strawberries.
