Indulge in juicy skillet pork chops with a zesty citrus sauce, balanced with savory and sweet notes, served alongside caramelized onions. A comforting meal bursting with bright flavors.
Ingredients:
  • 4 boneless pork loin chops, 3/4 inch thick (about 1 1/2 lb)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 small onion, halved and thinly sliced (1 cup)
  • 2 tablespoons Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/4 cups Progresso™ chicken broth (from 32-oz carton)
  • 1 teaspoon grated orange zest
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
Instructions:
  • Generously sprinkle pork chops with a pinch of salt and freshly ground black pepper.
  • Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat. Cook pork chops for 4 to 5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Transfer to a plate.
  • Lower the heat to medium and pour the remaining 1 tablespoon of oil into the skillet. Sauté the onion for 8 to 10 minutes until browned and softened, stirring occasionally. Sprinkle flour over the onions and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Pour in the broth and orange zest and bring to a boil. Return the pork chops to the skillet and coat them with the sauce. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 5 to 7 minutes until the pork is cooked through (at least 145°F). Serve the pork chops on a plate.
  • Combine fresh orange juice, tangy lime juice, and a hint of sweet sugar in the savory skillet sauce. Cook and stir for just 1 minute until the flavors meld and the sauce is warmed through. Drizzle this delightful mixture over the succulent pork chops and delight in every bite.
