Indulgent homemade blondies: rich, buttery, chewy perfection for any occasion.
Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick, 112 g) butter, melted
  • 1 cup (220 g) tightly packed dark brown sugar
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 cup (128 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup (60 g) butterscotch chips (chopped walnuts and chocolate chips are equally tasty)
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) while you prepare an 8x8-inch (20 cm x 20 cm) pan by lightly buttering and flouring it.
  • To prepare the batter, combine melted butter and sugar in a bowl. Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined. Fold in the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt until fully incorporated. Stir in up to 1 cup of butterscotch chips or other mix-ins of your choice.
  • To bake the blondies, simply pour the batter into the pan and spread it out evenly. Bake for 18 to 25 minutes, or until a tester inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Chill and serve: Let it cool down, then cut into squares or rectangles. Keep blondies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week or freeze for up to 3 months. Show some love by rating the recipe and leaving a comment!
