Delicious egg-free, fat-free sweet brown bread, perfect when served warm.
Ingredients:
  • 4 cups buttermilk
  • 4 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1.3333333730698 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 4 teaspoons baking soda
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and generously grease two 9x5 inch loaf pans.
  • Combine whole wheat flour, all-purpose flour, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl. Add buttermilk and mix until dry ingredients are fully incorporated. Evenly distribute batter into the loaf pans.
  • Bake until the loaf's crown is clean when tested with a knife, about 1 hour in a preheated oven. Serve warm and store leftovers in the fridge wrapped in plastic; this bread reheats beautifully.
