Warm and comforting dish from Amber Wilson of For The Love Of The South, perfect for spreading joy and satisfaction.
Ingredients:
  • 2 pounds Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled, sliced 1/4-inch thick
  • 1 whole garlic clove
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted, plus more for greasing pan
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, leaves only
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese, divided
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Reynolds Wrap® Aluminum Foil
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with Reynolds Wrap® Aluminum Foil to catch any spills.
  • In a big pot, submerge potato slices in cold water, season with salt, and boil for 5 minutes. Drain in a colander and let potatoes steam for 1 minute.
  • Use the garlic clove to flavor the 10-inch baking dish and generously butter it. Finely chop the remaining garlic and set it aside.
  • Return the potatoes to the pot while it's off the heat. Mix in heavy cream, thyme, half of the Parmesan cheese, chopped garlic, melted butter, salt, and pepper until the potatoes are thoroughly coated.
  • Arrange the potato slices in the buttered baking dish, stacking them neatly. Drizzle any remaining liquid over the potatoes. Set the baking dish on the lined baking sheet, then cover it with foil. Bake for 40 minutes. Uncover the dish, sprinkle with the rest of the cheese, then bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until it turns a lovely golden brown.
