Cozy turkey cobbler transforms Thanksgiving leftovers into a rustic, comforting dish. No pie shaping needed for this easy and delicious recipe!
Ingredients:
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic base (such as Better Than Bouillon® Roasted Garlic Base)
  • 2.5 cups cubed cooked turkey
  • 0.5 cup chopped carrots
  • 0.5 cup chopped celery
  • 0.25 cup chopped onion
  • 0.25 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground thyme
  • 0.25 teaspoon dried parsley
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • nonstick cooking spray
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 teaspoons baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 pinch Italian seasoning
  • 1 pinch garlic granules
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon butter. Whisk in 1 tablespoon flour until a paste forms. Gradually pour in water while stirring. Mix in 1/2 cup milk and garlic base until bubbling. Add turkey, carrots, celery, and onion; heat for about 5 minutes. Stir in oregano, thyme, parsley, salt, and pepper. Remove from heat and let it sit.
  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) and generously spray an 8x6-inch casserole dish with cooking spray.
  • In a bowl, blend 1 cup flour, baking powder, and salt with a whisk. Incorporate 3 tablespoons butter until the mixture is crumbly. Slowly add 1/2 cup milk until a dough forms and pulls away from the bowl's sides.
  • Transfer the flavorful turkey filling into the casserole dish. Spoon the cobbler topping over the filling, then generously sprinkle with Italian seasoning and garlic granules for added depth of flavor.
  • Bake until the cobbler topping turns golden brown, approximately 25 minutes in the preheated oven.
