Indulge in a cozy winter treat with our delightful Condensed Milk Bread Pudding that will please the whole family!
Ingredients:
  • 400g pkt butter brioche loaf
  • 100g dark chocolate (70% cocoa), coarsely chopped
  • 2 x 395g cans sweetened condensed milk
  • 500ml (2 cups) pouring cream
  • 8.80 gm vanilla extract
  • 110g (1/2 cup) caster sugar
  • 80ml (1/3 cup) double cream
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 180C/160C fan forced and generously grease a round 3L ovenproof dish. Trim the ends of the brioche and slice into 1cm-thick pieces using a serrated bread knife.
  • Layer the slices in the prepared dish in a beautiful concentric circle, adding three-quarters of the chocolate between each layer.
  • In a large bowl, combine condensed milk, pouring cream, eggs, and vanilla. Strain the mixture over bread slices through a fine sieve and let it sit for 30 minutes to soak.
  • Evenly scatter the leftover chopped dark chocolate on top of the brioche slices. Bake until golden and set, approximately 45 minutes.
  • In a saucepan over low heat, gently combine sugar and 60ml (1 ⁄4 cup) water until sugar dissolves. Let it boil undisturbed until it turns a deep golden color, approximately 5 minutes.
  • Take the mixture off the heat and gently incorporate the double cream (watch for any splitting). Let it sit for 15 minutes to slightly thicken, then generously drizzle over the pudding before serving.
