Indulgent dumplings in rich condensed milk sauce - a divine dessert treat!
Ingredients:
  • 150g (1 cup) self-raising flour
  • 60g butter, chopped
  • 80ml (1/3 cup) milk
  • 395g can condensed milk
  • 80ml (1/3 cup) golden syrup
  • 4.40 gm vanilla extract
  • Pouring cream, to serve
Instructions:
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the flour and 20g of butter by rubbing with your fingertips until well mixed. Create a well in the center and pour in the milk and 1 tablespoon condensed milk. Use a flat-bladed knife to mix until a sticky dough forms. Divide the dough into 12 equal portions using lightly floured fingertips and gently shape into rough balls, being careful not to overwork the dough to avoid tough dumplings.
  • In a spacious deep frying pan, mix together the golden syrup, remaining 40g of butter, and the rest of the condensed milk. Stir over medium-low heat for 5 minutes until well combined and slightly golden. Add the vanilla and 125ml (1/2 cup) water.
  • Carefully place the dumplings in the sauce, making sure they have room to expand. Cover, lower the heat, and cook for 5 minutes. Uncover and gently flip the dumplings with a spoon. Cover and cook for an additional 2 minutes until fully cooked.
  • Evenly distribute the sauce into shallow serving bowls, then place the dumplings on top. Finish by drizzling with cream.
