Contadina® Quick Bolognese Sauce

Quick and hearty Bolognese sauce with beef, veggies, and broth - ideal for busy families.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 3 ounces bacon, chopped
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 0.5 cup sliced celery
  • 0.5 cup chopped carrots
  • 0.5 cup COLLEGE INN® Fat Free & Lower Sodium Beef Broth, or red or white wine
  • 1 (28 ounce) can CONTADINA® Crushed Tomatoes
  • 0.75 cup whole milk
  • Cooked pasta
Instructions:
  • In a large saucepan over medium-high heat, caramelize beef, bacon, onion, celery, and carrots until perfectly browned and crisp, approximately 10 minutes.
  • Pour in the flavorful broth and allow it to simmer until all the liquid has evaporated, making sure to scrape up all the delicious browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
  • Combine the tomatoes and milk, then simmer over medium-low heat until the sauce thickens, approximately 15 minutes. Serve the delicious sauce over your favorite pasta.
