Creamy, Southern country gravy - a quick and classic recipe perfect for smothering chicken fried steak or drizzling over freshly baked biscuits. Ready in just 15 minutes!
Ingredients:
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
Instructions:
  • Once the cooked meat has been removed from the skillet, add oil to the drippings. Stir in the flour, making sure to scrape up all the browned bits from the bottom of the skillet. Cook over medium-high heat for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring constantly, until the mixture turns a light golden brown.
  • Pour in the milk and simmer over medium-high heat, stirring constantly until the mixture reaches a boil and thickens. Adjust the thickness by adding more milk, 1 tablespoon at a time, if needed. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
