Spectacular green bean and smoked turkey potato dish, perfect for events or church dinners. Turkey tails create flavorful broth.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 pound smoked turkey tails
  • 2 (14.5 ounce) cans green beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 10 small red potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1 tablespoon seasoned salt
  • 2 teaspoons ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
Instructions:
  • In a 4-quart Dutch oven, combine turkey tails, onion, and water halfway full. Season generously with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Bring to a boil, then cover, reduce heat, and simmer until meat easily comes off the bones, approximately 2 hours. Remove bones and skin, keeping only the tender meat in the pot.
  • Simmer green beans in the Dutch oven for 20 minutes, then add potatoes and simmer for an additional 10 to 15 minutes until potatoes are fork-tender.
