Family recipe: Seasoned beef pan-fried and slow-baked for tender country-style steaks in savory gravy.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon cracked black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 pound beef cube steaks
  • 0.5 cup olive oil
  • 2 cups beef broth
Instructions:
  • Prepare all your fresh ingredients and preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • In a shallow bowl, combine flour, black pepper, seasoned salt, and garlic powder. Coat cube steaks generously with the flour mixture, pressing the flour onto the steaks for full coverage.
  • Keep 3 tablespoons of seasoned flour.
  • In a skillet on medium heat, sizzle cube steaks in olive oil until they shine golden brown on each side, approximately 5 minutes per side. Transfer the seared steaks to a 9x12-inch baking dish.
  • Combine the seasoned flour into the beef broth, whisking until smooth.
  • Lavish hot broth over the succulent steaks, then shield them with a shiny blanket of aluminum foil.
  • Cook in the preheated oven until the meat is succulent and the gravy has thickened, approximately 2 hours.
