Whip up vibrant cranberry bars for a stunning and effortless addition to your dessert spread.
Ingredients:
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 cups fresh cranberries
  • 1 tablespoon grated orange peel
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups quick-cooking or old-fashioned oats
  • 1 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose or whole wheat flour
Instructions:
  • Combine granulated sugar, orange juice, and water in a 1 1/2-quart saucepan. Bring to a boil, then stir in the rest of the Cranberry Filling ingredients. Cook over medium heat for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened. Let it cool.
  • Preheat the oven to 400°F. Combine brown sugar and butter in a medium bowl. Mix in all other bar ingredients until crumbly. Press half of the mixture into an ungreased 13x9x2 inch rectangular pan. Spread the filling over the crust. Sprinkle the remaining crumbly mixture on top and press lightly.
  • Bake for roughly 20 minutes or until golden brown. Cut into 8 rows by 6 rows to prepare bars while still warm.
