Fresh Cranberry Orange Walnut Scones: Quick and Easy recipe.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 0.25 cup butter, chilled and diced
  • 1 cup fresh cranberries, roughly chopped
  • 0.33333334326744 cup white sugar
  • 1 grated zest of one orange
  • 0.5 cup chopped walnuts
  • 0.75 cup half-and-half cream
  • 1 egg
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to a toasty 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • Combine flour, brown sugar, baking powder, nutmeg, and salt in a large bowl. Add the butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Combine cranberries and sugar in a separate bowl, then mix into the flour mixture along with orange peel and nuts, gently stirring to combine.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together cream and egg. Gently pour this mixture into the dry ingredients and use a rubber scraper to combine until a dough forms. Knead the dough briefly, about 4 or 5 times, ensuring not to overwork it. Divide the dough in half and shape each portion into a 6-inch circle. Cut each circle into 6 wedges and arrange the scones on lightly greased baking sheets.
  • Bake until golden brown in a preheated oven for approximately 20 minutes.
