Cream Cheese Swirl Brownies

Create gorgeous cream cheese brownies using Betty Crocker™ Supreme original brownie mix for a quick and impressive dessert with just 15 minutes of prep time.
Ingredients:
  • 3 oz (from 8-oz package) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg, separated, yolk reserved for brownie batter
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 box (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Delights Supreme Original Brownie Mix
  • Water, vegetable oil and egg called for on brownie mix box
  • Reserved egg yolk
  • 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pan) and grease the bottom of a 9-inch square pan with shortening or cooking spray. In a small bowl, stir together cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Mix in flour, egg white, and vanilla until well blended. Set the mixture aside.
  • Follow the instructions on the brownie mix box, mixing in the reserved egg yolk. Set aside 1/2 cup batter. Spread the remaining batter in the pan. Dollop the filling by the tablespoon evenly in 3 rows by 3 rows. Add about 1 tablespoon of the reserved batter in the center of each filling dollop. Create a swirled design by dragging a knife through the mixture in four straight lines horizontally and vertically. Sprinkle with chocolate chips.
  • Bake for 28 to 32 minutes or until a toothpick inserted 2 inches from the side of the pan comes out nearly clean. Let it cool on a rack for 30 minutes. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour. Cut into 4 rows by 4 rows and store covered in the fridge.
