Homemade versatile cream of soup mix for budget-friendly, customizable cooking.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups instant nonfat dry milk
  • 3/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup chicken bouillon powder
  • 2 tablespoons dry minced onions
  • 1 teaspoon parsley flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
Instructions:
  • Add 1 cup of instant nonfat dry milk to a 1-liter mason jar and seal it tightly.
  • Combine cornstarch, bouillon powder, minced onion, parsley, and pepper in a sealed container. Shake vigorously until well mixed.
  • Incorporate the remaining cup of dry milk into the mixture. Secure the lid tightly and shake vigorously once more. Keep in a cool, dark pantry until needed.
  • Combine 1/3 cup of dry mix with 1 cup of cold water in a small saucepan, stirring until smooth.
  • Heat saucepan over medium high heat and cook for 5 minutes, whisking constantly. Remove from heat and let cool and thicken for 5 minutes before using as a soup substitute in your recipe.
