Classic comfort: Chicken in creamy sauce topped with crispy biscuits.
Ingredients:
  • 1.5 teaspoons butter
  • 0.5 large onion, chopped
  • 4 cups chopped cooked chicken
  • 1 (10.75 ounce) can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 0.5 cup chopped pimento
  • 1 cup shredded mild Cheddar cheese, divided
  • 6 frozen biscuits, thawed
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and generously grease a 7x11-inch baking dish.
  • In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter and sauté onion until translucent for about 5 minutes. Transfer the fragrant onion to a bowl and combine with chicken, chicken soup, sour cream, milk, and pimentos. Pour this delicious mixture into the baking dish.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for around 15 minutes until the chicken and sauce are heated through. Sprinkle 3/4 cup of shredded Cheddar cheese on top, then layer the biscuits over the chicken mixture. Finish by topping with the remaining 1/4 cup of Cheddar cheese.
  • Continue baking in the oven until the sauce is bubbling and the biscuits are golden brown, approximately 20 minutes.
