Creamed Onions and Peas

Delicious recipe with peas, pearl onions. Quick and tasty!
Ingredients:
  • 1.5 cups fresh pearl onions
  • 2 cups fresh or frozen peas
  • 1 tablespoon margarine or butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 0.25 teaspoon pepper
  • 0.125 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.125 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions:
  • 1. Boil water in a pot, then add pearl onions and cook for 3 minutes. Drain, rinse under cold water, and peel, removing the ends.
  • Return the onions to the pot, then add the peas and just enough water to cover them. Simmer gently until tender, approximately 10 to 12 minutes. Drain the vegetables and transfer them to a bowl.
  • In the same pot, melt margarine over medium-high heat. Stir in cream, salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder until mixture comes to a boil. Cook and stir constantly until sauce thickens, about 5 minutes. Add peas and onions, mixing until coated.
  • Enjoy the dish right away.
