Elevate your holiday meal with this classic side dish of creamy peas and pearl onions in a decadent white sauce.
Ingredients:
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 cups milk
  • 1 (16 ounce) package frozen peas and onions, thawed
  • salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
  • In a large skillet, gently melt the butter over low heat. Add the flour and cook until it's well coated and slightly golden.
  • Turn up the heat to medium and gradually add the milk, 1/2 cup at a time, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens.
  • Mix in the peas and onions, sauté until heated through, and generously season with salt and pepper.
