Delicious creamed salmon and pea toast - a perfect snack or light dinner option!
Ingredients:
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 (14.75 ounce) can salmon
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cold milk
  • 1 (10 ounce) can canned green peas, drained, liquid reserved
Instructions:
  • Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in flour, stirring constantly until smooth. Gradually add milk and reserved pea liquid, stirring constantly until a thick gravy forms.
  • Break up salmon into a bowl, ensuring any big pieces are broken down. Gently mix salmon and peas into the sauce with a wooden spoon to keep peas intact. Heat until warmed. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Toast the bread until golden in a toaster oven or broiler pan. Add butter to taste, then generously spread with the flavorful salmon mixture on top.
