Blue cheese and smoked chicken pasta - a flavorful and unique dish.
Ingredients:
  • 1/2 whole smoked chicken
  • 400g penne rigate
  • 2 bunches asparagus, trimmed, cut into thirds
  • 375ml milk
  • 20g butter
  • 20.00 ml plain flour
  • 150g blue cheese, chopped
  • Freshly ground pepper
  • Freshly ground nutmeg, to serve
Instructions:
  • Shred the chicken into large strips after removing the meat.
  • Bring a large saucepan of water to a boil. Cook the penne according to package directions, adding the asparagus in the last 2 minutes. Drain and return to the saucepan.
  • Heat milk until hot but not boiling. Melt butter in a separate saucepan, then add flour and cook for 2 minutes until bubbly. Gradually whisk in hot milk until smooth. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally, then remove from heat.
  • Stir in the cheese until melted. Toss in the chicken and cheese mixture with the pasta and asparagus. Season with pepper, sprinkle a touch of nutmeg, then serve in individual dishes.
