Indulge in buttery garlic mushroom pasta with sautéed chicken for a quick and delicious meal.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (16 ounce) package farfalle (bow tie) pasta
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 small onions, chopped
  • 1 (4 ounce) can mushroom pieces and stems, drained
  • 0.25 cup butter
  • 0.25 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2.5 cups milk
  • 1.5 teaspoons crushed garlic
Instructions:
  • 1. Boil a generous amount of salted water in a large pot. Add farfalle and cook until al dente, about 12 minutes, stirring occasionally. Drain the pasta and return it to the pot.
  • In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Cook the chicken until no longer pink in the center and juices run clear, about 5 to 8 minutes per side. Transfer the cooked chicken to a cutting board and slice into thin strips.
  • In the same skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter until sizzling. Sauté onions until transparent, for 5 to 10 minutes. Add mushrooms and chicken strips; stir until heated through for about 5 minutes. Remove from heat.
  • In a large skillet, melt 1/4 cup of butter until it sizzles. Add flour and stir until it dissolves, for about 1 minute. Gradually whisk in milk until creamy, then mix in garlic, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil for 1 minute, then simmer.
  • Mix the chicken mixture and farfalle into the aromatic garlic sauce, cooking and stirring gently over medium-low heat until everything is heated through, which should take about 2 to 3 minutes.
