Creamy garlic chicken sausage pasta is a deliciously easy Italian meal.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • salt to taste
  • white pepper to taste
  • 4 cups milk
  • 1 (16 ounce) package corkscrew-shaped pasta (fusilli)
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 (12 ounce) package garlic chicken sausage (such as al fresco® All Natural Roasted Garlic Chicken Sausage), sliced
Instructions:
  • In a small saucepan, gently melt the butter over medium-low heat. Whisk in the flour until fully dissolved, about 5 to 10 minutes. Season with salt and white pepper. Gradually pour in the milk, stirring constantly until the sauce becomes smooth and thick, approximately 10 to 15 minutes.
  • 1. Boil a large pot of lightly salted water. 2. Add pasta and cook until al dente, about 12 minutes. 3. Drain and transfer to a serving bowl.
  • Take the sauce off the heat and mix in the egg yolks and nutmeg until thoroughly combined. Pour the sauce over the pasta and toss it well to coat.
  • Brown and cook sausage in a skillet over medium heat for 5 to 10 minutes until golden and fully cooked. Mix sausage into pasta and season with salt and white pepper to taste.
