Add Betty Crocker® Fruit by the Foot® to Cheerios® gingerbread cookies for a fun twist on a classic treat.
Ingredients:
  • 3 cups Cheerios™ cereal
  • 2 cups coarsely chopped gingersnap cookies (about 30 cookies)
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 bag (10.5 oz) miniature marshmallows (5 1/2 cups)
  • 1/2 cup white vanilla baking chips
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
  • Assorted decorating candies, if desired
  • Betty Crocker™ Fruit by the Foot™ chewy fruit snack rolls (any flavor), if desired
Instructions:
  • Combine cereal and chopped cookies in a large bowl. In a 2-quart nonstick saucepan, melt butter. Stir in marshmallows over medium-low heat until completely melted. Pour the melted mixture over the cereal and cookies, stirring until well coated.
  • Cover the cookie sheet with waxed paper and generously spray with cooking spray. Also, spray a 3 3/4-inch open gingerbread man cookie cutter with cooking spray and place it on the prepared sheet. Grease your hands with cooking spray, then firmly press the cereal mixture into the cookie cutter, ensuring it's packed evenly and full. Push the mixture out of the cutter gently and repeat this process until all the mixture is used. Allow it to sit until it is completely set.
  • Place baking chips and oil in a small resealable freezer plastic bag. Seal the bag and microwave on High for about 1 minute or until softened. Gently squeeze the bag until the mixture is smooth. Refrigerate for 2 minutes, or until slightly set. Cut off a tiny corner of the bag and pipe melted chips over cookies to decorate, using small dots to attach candy. Once the decorations are set, cut strips of fruit snack and tie them around the necks for scarves.
