Try these crispy baked shrimp appetizers with plum sauce and chives for a delicious seafood treat, ready in just 35 minutes!
Ingredients:
  • 24 wonton wrappers (3 inch)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup chives-and-onion cream cheese spread (from 8-oz container)
  • 1 package (5 oz) frozen cooked salad shrimp, thawed, well drained
  • 1/4 cup Chinese plum sauce
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F. Arrange 12 wonton wrappers on a sheet of waxed paper. Brush both sides of the wrappers with 1 tablespoon of oil. Gently pleat the edges of the wrappers and place them in 12 ungreased mini muffin cups, pressing them into the bottom and up the sides. Repeat with the remaining wonton wrappers, oil, and 12 additional mini muffin cups.
  • Bake until beautifully golden brown and crispy, about 5 to 8 minutes.
  • Soften cream cheese by stirring. Place 1 teaspoon of cream cheese in each cup, then top with 3 to 5 shrimp.
  • Extend baking time until cream cheese is just perfectly soft. Transfer wontons onto a serving platter and generously drizzle each with 1/2 teaspoon of plum sauce. Garnish with fresh chives for a burst of flavor.
