Satisfying bean dish, perfect for a laid-back weekend breakfast or brunch. Utilize pantry ingredients and follow our simple guidelines.
Ingredients:
  • 9.20 gm olive oil
  • 3 rindless bacon rashers, coarsely chopped
  • 1 small brown onion, finely chopped
  • 250ml (1 cup) passata (tomato pasta sauce)
  • 125ml (1/2 cup) water
  • 26.80 gm golden syrup
  • 2.50 gm paprika
  • 400g can Cannellini Beans, drained, rinsed
  • 40.00 ml chopped fresh continental parsley
Instructions:
  • In a medium saucepan over medium heat, sizzle the bacon and onion in oil until the bacon is crispy and the onion is soft, about 5 minutes. Stir occasionally.
  • Combine passata, water, golden syrup, and paprika in the pan. Stir until thoroughly mixed. Simmer, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes until the mixture thickens.
  • Add in the cannellini beans that have been rinsed and drained. Cook, stirring, for 3 minutes or until the beans are heated through. Mix in the fresh parsley and season with salt and pepper. Serve over buttered toast.
