Cream cheese, cocoa, and cinnamon icing tops a decadent dark chocolate cake for a sophisticated dessert.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2.75 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2.25 cups white sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1.5 teaspoons vanilla extract
Instructions:
  • - Preheat your oven to a toasty 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and generously grease 3 - 9 inch round cake pans. - In a medium bowl, create a delightful mixture by pouring boiling water over cocoa and whisking until it's smooth. Let it cool down. - Sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt, then set it aside for later use.
  • In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla. Gradually add in flour and cocoa mixtures, spreading batter evenly between the 3 prepared pans.
  • Place the dish in the warm oven for 25 to 30 minutes. Let it cool before serving.
