Irresistible bacon-wrapped dates filled with buttery almonds, a modern take on a classic appetizer.
Ingredients:
  • 24 fresh dates
  • 130g (3/4 cup) smoked almond kernels
  • 60g butter, at room temperature
  • 6 thin slices rindless bacon
  • Balsamic glaze (optional), to serve
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 180°C. With a small sharp knife, gently slit each date and remove the stone.
  • Pulse almonds in a food processor until coarsely chopped, then blend in butter until fully mixed. Fill each date cavity with the mixture evenly.
  • Cut bacon slices into 4 pieces each. Wrap each date with a piece of bacon and secure with a toothpick.
  • Place on a baking tray and bake for 10-15 minutes until hot. Optional: Drizzle with balsamic glaze before serving.
