Indulge in a decadent death by chocolate trifle with layers of rich German chocolate cake, creamy pudding, espresso-soaked cake, fluffy whipped topping, and crunchy toffee bits.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (18.25 ounce) package German chocolate cake mix
  • 1.25 cups water
  • 3 eggs
  • 0.5 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 (3.9 ounce) package instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 1.6666667461395 cups milk
  • 0.75 cup strong brewed coffee
  • 1 (12 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • 6 (1.4 ounce) bars chocolate covered toffee bars, frozen and crushed
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9x13-inch dish by greasing and flouring it.
  • Prepare the cake batter per package instructions, incorporating water, eggs, and oil as specified. Pour batter into the prepared dish.
  • Bake in the oven until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, around 30 minutes. Allow to cool and then crumble.
  • Prepare the pudding mix as instructed on the package, incorporating the milk as specified.
  • Layer half of the crumbled cake at the bottom of a glass serving bowl. Drizzle half of the coffee over the cake and spread half of the pudding on top. Cover with half of the whipped topping and sprinkle with half of the crushed candy bars. Repeat the layers and refrigerate until ready to serve.
