Creamy ham and pasta casserole with Cheddar cheese, peas, and crispy onion topping.
Ingredients:
  • 3 cups elbow macaroni
  • cooking spray
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 cup cubed ham
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of celery soup
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1 cup milk
  • 0.5 cup sour cream
  • 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 (6 ounce) can French-fried onions, crushed
Instructions:
  • 1. Boil a large pot of salted water. Cook the macaroni in the boiling water uncovered, stirring occasionally, until al dente, about 8 minutes. Drain well.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) while greasing a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  • In a large skillet, melt butter over medium-high heat. Sauté ham and onion in the butter until onion is tender, approximately 5 minutes. Add garlic and continue to cook for an additional 2 minutes. Remove skillet from heat.
  • Combine macaroni, sharp Cheddar cheese, condensed soup, peas, milk, sour cream, onion powder, and garlic powder with the ham in the skillet, ensuring everything is thoroughly mixed. Then, move the mixture to the baking dish.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes until the cheese is melted. Sprinkle French-fried onions over the casserole and bake for an additional 5 minutes until golden.
