Create irresistible Dorito-crusted haloumi by baking thick slices until crispy.
Ingredients:
  • 170g Cheese Supreme corn chips
  • 40g (1/4 cup) plain flour
  • 2 eggs, lightly whisked
  • 2 x 180g packets haloumi, rinsed
  • 330g jar roasted whole peppers, rinsed, drained
  • 37.60 gm sour cream
Instructions:
  • Pulse the corn chips in a food processor until they turn into fine crumbs. Transfer the crumbs to a shallow dish. Place the flour in one shallow bowl and the egg in another.
  • Prepare a baking tray with parchment paper. Slice the haloumi into 14 chips. Coat the chips in flour, removing any excess. Then, dip them in egg and breadcrumbs, pressing gently to ensure they are coated well. Chill on the tray in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.
  • To prepare the roasted capsicum dip, combine the peppers and sour cream in a food processor. Blend until smooth, then season to taste. Transfer the mixture to a small serving dish.
  • Preheat your fan-forced oven to 180°C (160°C fan). Bake the haloumi chips for 12-15 minutes, or until they turn a beautiful golden color. Serve them hot alongside the roasted capsicum dip.
