Juicy double cheeseburger with two beef patties, topped with tomato, lettuce, onion, cheese, and zesty Thousand Island dressing.
Ingredients:
  • 1 hamburger bun, split
  • 0.33333334326744 pound ground beef
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 4 processed cheese singles (such as Kraft®)
  • 1 tablespoon thousand island salad dressing (such as Kraft®)
  • 1 slice tomato
  • 1 leaf lettuce
  • 1 slice onion
Instructions:
  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat until hot. Toast hamburger bun halves, cut-sides down, in the skillet until lightly browned, for about 2 to 3 minutes. Place the toasted buns on a plate.
  • Divide the beef into 2 portions and shape them into thin patties slightly larger than the bottom bun, then season each patty with salt.
  • Sear patties in a large skillet over medium heat for 2 to 3 minutes. Then, flip them and top each with 2 cheese slices. Cook until your preferred doneness is achieved, approximately 2 to 3 minutes more. Verify they are done by using an instant-read thermometer - the center should reach 160 degrees F (70 degrees C) for well done.
  • Layer the cheeseburger with the bottom bun, dressing, tomato, lettuce, beef patty topped with cheese, onion, second beef patty topped with cheese, and top bun.
