Impress your friends with these irresistible brownies!
Ingredients:
  • 90g unsalted butter
  • 180g dark chocolate, chopped
  • 32.50 gm cocoa powder, sifted
  • 187.50 ml plain flour
  • 1.00 gm baking powder
  • 0.60 gm salt
  • 215.00 gm caster sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 8.80 gm vanilla extract
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 180°C/160°C fan-forced. Grease a 6cm-deep, 20cm square cake pan and line the base and sides with baking paper, allowing the paper to extend 5cm above the edges.
  • In a heatproof bowl, combine butter, chocolate, and cocoa. Melt the mixture over a saucepan of simmering water, stirring until smooth. Allow to cool for 5 minutes before moving on.
  • In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Keep aside.
  • With the electric mixer, blend sugar, eggs, and vanilla on medium speed for 4 minutes until they turn pale. Incorporate the chocolate mixture, beat until well combined. Then, lower the speed, add flour, and continue beating until fully combined.
  • Pour batter into prepared pan and use a spatula to create an even top. Bake for 35 minutes or until a skewer inserted into the brownies comes out with crumbs clinging. Let them cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Cut into squares and enjoy!
