Delicious breakfast casserole with biscuits, gravy, eggs, and cheese - a comforting meal for the family.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound bulk breakfast sausage
  • 0.25 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2.25 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt, divided
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground black pepper, divided
  • 1 tablespoon butter, softened
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 (16.3 ounce) can refrigerated biscuit dough
  • 3 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and generously butter a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the sausage by crumbling it with the back of a spoon for 5 to 7 minutes.
  • Once the heat is reduced to medium, generously sprinkle flour over the sausage, making sure it's evenly distributed. Stir constantly for 1 minute. Pour in the milk and stir well, ensuring to scrape off any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Cook, stirring occasionally, for about 7 minutes. Season with 1/2 teaspoon of salt and 1/4 teaspoon of pepper. Remove the pan from the heat.
  • Prepare a baking dish, crack eggs into it, and whisk in the remaining salt and pepper until well blended. Cut each biscuit into quarters and place them in a single layer over the eggs. Sprinkle 1 1/2 cups of Cheddar cheese over the biscuits. Pour sausage gravy over the cheese, spreading it evenly. Top with the remaining cheese.
  • Bake in a golden and bubbly preheated oven for 25-30 minutes. Rest for 5 minutes before serving.
