Fun holiday project: Easy brownie ornaments for all ages!
Ingredients:
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Fudge Brownie Mix
  • Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on brownie mix box
  • 12 small candy canes
  • Betty Crocker™ Cookie Icing (assorted colors), if desired
  • Betty Crocker™ Sprinkles and Sugar Sprinkles (assorted colors), if desired
  • M&M’s® candy-coated milk chocolate candies (assorted colors), if desired
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F. Line a 13x9-inch pan with foil, ensuring some extends over the edges. Grease the foil on the bottom and sides with shortening or cooking spray.
  • Prepare and bake the brownies following the instructions on the box. Allow the brownies to cool completely on a cooling rack for about 1 hour, then freeze them in the pan for 30 minutes.
  • Lift the brownies from the pan using the foil, then peel it away. Cut out 8 larger rounds using a 3-inch cutter. Cut out smaller rounds with a 1 3/4-inch cutter from the remaining brownie. Keep the leftover pieces for snacking.
  • Trim the curved end off each candy cane, remove wrappers, and fashion them into hooks on top of the brownie circles. Save any extra candy cane pieces for later.
  • Get creative with icing, sprinkles, colored sugars, and candies to decorate as you please. Allow to sit for roughly 30 minutes or until the icing has set. Store covered at room temperature with waxed paper between layers.
