Easy Caramel Apple Bars

Make delicious caramel apple cookie bars effortlessly.
Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup cold butter
  • 1 pouch (17.5 oz) Betty Crocker™ Oatmeal Cookie Mix
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup finely chopped peeled apple
  • 3/4 cup caramel topping
  • 1/4 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F and generously coat the bottom of a 13x9-inch pan with cooking spray.
  • In a spacious bowl, blend the butter into the cookie mix with a fork or pastry blender until it resembles crumbs. Add the egg and mix until the dough is formed.
  • Set aside 1 1/2 cups of cookie mixture. Press the rest into the pan and bake for 15 minutes. Evenly spread the apple over the crust. Combine caramel topping and flour in a small bowl; drizzle over the apples. Sprinkle the reserved cookie mixture over the apples.
  • Bake until beautifully golden brown, for about 20-25 minutes. Allow to cool completely, around 2 hours. Cut into 9 rows by 4 rows to make perfect bars.
