Easy Cream Biscuits

Make extra tender biscuits effortlessly by using rich whipping cream instead of shortening.
Ingredients:
  • 1 3/4 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • About 1 1/4 cups whipping (heavy) cream
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 450°F.
  • Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. Gradually add whipping cream until the dough comes together and forms a smooth ball. If the dough seems dry, incorporate 1 to 2 teaspoons more whipping cream as needed.
  • Place the dough on a lightly floured surface and roll it gently in flour to coat. Knead lightly 10 times, adding more flour if necessary. Roll or pat the dough to 1/2 inch thickness and cut using a floured 2-inch biscuit cutter. Arrange the cut dough circles about 1 inch apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Bake until golden brown for 10-12 minutes. Transfer to wire rack right away. Serve hot.
