Easy apple pie with sweet crust, cinnamon filling, and crispy streusel topping - all from one dough.
Ingredients:
  • 4 large apples - peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
  • 1 pinch ground cinnamon
  • 7 ounces unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 3 teaspoons vanilla sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 3.5 teaspoons baking powder
Instructions:
  • Place apple slices and cinnamon in a saucepan over low heat for 10 minutes. Add a splash of water if needed to prevent burning. Let cool off the heat.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) while generously greasing a 10-inch springform pan with butter.
  • In a large bowl, whip together butter, sugar, vanilla sugar, and egg until smooth and creamy using an electric mixer. In a separate bowl, combine flour and baking powder. Gradually add 2/3 of the flour mixture to the butter mixture, beating on low speed. Stir in the remaining flour mixture by hand until a crumbly dough forms.
  • Spread half of the dough in the springform pan to form a crust. Arrange apple slices, leaving a border. Sprinkle the remaining dough on top evenly.
  • Bake until the streusel and crust are lightly browned, about 50 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow to cool on a wire rack for 5 minutes, then run a knife around the edges to loosen and transfer to a serving plate or cooling rack.
