Delicious gnocchi with quick tomato sauce ready in under 20 minutes.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (16 ounce) package gnocchi
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can petite diced tomatoes
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 0.5 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon basil chiffonade (thinly sliced fresh basil leaves)
Instructions:
  • Bring a generously salted pot of water to a lively boil. Cook gnocchi until they gently rise to the surface, which will take around 2 to 4 minutes.
  • Heat fragrant olive oil in a heavy skillet over medium-high heat. Sauté garlic until aromatic, approximately 1 minute.
  • Add juicy tomatoes and their flavorful liquid to the pot. Season generously with salt and pepper. Simmer the tomato sauce until it slightly thickens, which should take around 5 to 10 minutes.
  • When the gnocchi rise to the surface, drain and place in a serving dish. Add tomato sauce on top of the gnocchi and sprinkle with basil chiffonade.
