Hearty lasagna with lean beef, three cheeses, and spaghetti sauce - a simple family favorite.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 (32 ounce) jar spaghetti sauce
  • 32 ounces cottage cheese
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 2 eggs
  • 0.5 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 teaspoons dried parsley
  • salt to taste
  • 9 lasagna noodles
  • 0.5 cup water
Instructions:
  • Collect all the ingredients and preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Preheat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sauté ground beef until golden and crumbly, about 8-10 minutes. Discard excess grease. Add spaghetti sauce and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
  • In a large bowl, mix together cottage cheese, 2 cups of mozzarella cheese, eggs, 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese, dried parsley, salt, and pepper.
  • Begin by generously layering 3/4 cup of sauce in a 9x13-inch baking dish. Add 3 uncooked lasagna noodles, followed by 1 3/4 cups of cheese mixture and 1/4 cup of sauce; repeat this layering process once more. Finish off with the remaining 3 noodles, sauce, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese on top. Gently pour 1/2 cup of water along the edges of the dish before securely covering it with aluminium foil.
  • Bake in a preheated oven for 45 minutes. Remove cover and bake for 10 more minutes. Allow to rest for 10 minutes before serving.
