Tender steamed broccoli with zesty lemon, garlic, and butter for a delicious side dish.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound broccoli, separated into florets
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 4 teaspoons fresh lemon juice, divided
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
Instructions:
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook broccoli florets until bright green and tender by drizzling a mixture of water and 2 teaspoons of lemon juice over them. Cover and steam for 10 to 15 minutes.
  • In a small saucepan, gently melt butter over medium-low heat. Add garlic and salt, stir well, then sauté on low heat until garlic turns golden brown, approximately 8 minutes.
  • After draining the cooked broccoli, return it to the skillet. Sprinkle with the remaining 2 teaspoons of lemon juice and stir in the garlic butter mixture. Finish by sprinkling the broccoli with black pepper and tossing to combine.
