Decadent sugar cookies with a touch of tradition from Azores.
Ingredients:
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
  • Mix cornstarch and white sugar in a medium bowl. Cream the mixture with butter. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well. Stir in flour and baking powder until dough forms. Roll out dough to 1/4 inch thickness on a floured surface and cut into shapes with cookie cutters. Place cookies 1 inch apart on a baking sheet.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes until cookies are golden brown on the edges. Cool the cookies on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
