Make Runza Casserole: a quick, easy twist on classic pockets for a busy weeknight.
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 0.5 cup chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 0.125 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 cups chopped cabbage
  • 1 (10 ounce) can low-sodium cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 (8 ounce) packages refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) for the perfect cooking temperature.
  • In a deep skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Add ground beef and cook, stirring occasionally, until browned, approximately 5 minutes.
  • Sauté onion with salt, pepper, and garlic powder until softened, around 3 to 5 minutes. Follow by adding cabbage and cooking until tender, approximately 5 minutes. Finally, blend in the mushroom soup.
  • Unwrap the crescent roll dough and lay out the pieces. Use 8 pieces to line the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish. Spread the beef mixture over the dough. Sprinkle with Cheddar and mozzarella cheeses. Top with the remaining 8 pieces of dough.
  • Bake until the top is golden brown and the filling bubbles, for 20 to 30 minutes in the preheated oven.
