Feed a crowd with this easy homemade stromboli stuffed with ham, salami, provolone, and mozzarella in a pizza dough roll. Perfect for sharing!
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound prepared pizza dough ( homemade or store-bought)
  • All-purpose flour, for sprinkling
  • 16 thin-cut slices Genoa salami (1/3 pound)
  • 8 thick-cut slices capicola ham (1/3 pound)
  • 16 slices provolone (1/4 pound)
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella
  • 1 cup peppadews , or roasted red peppers, drained
  • 1 tablespoon drained capers
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan, for sprinkling
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 400°F, positioning the oven rack in the lower third of the oven.
  • Prepare the surface: Place a 16-inch sheet of parchment paper on the counter and sprinkle with flour. Roll the dough on the floured parchment paper into a 14-by-11-inch rectangle.
  • Assemble the filling: Spread out the salami on the dough, slightly overlapping the slices to cover the surface, leaving a 1/2-inch border. Top with provolone, ham, mozzarella, peppadews, and finish off with a sprinkle of capers.
  • Roll up the dough: Brush the edges of the dough with beaten egg. Use the parchment paper to guide you as you gently lift and roll the dough into a log shape. Ensure the seam is tucked underneath and neatly pinch the ends to seal. Fold any excess dough under the roll for a clean finish.
  • Place the log on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper by using the paper as a sling. Brush the log with egg wash and sprinkle generously with Parmesan cheese. Use a paring knife to create diagonal slits at 1-inch intervals along the top of the log.
  • Bake the stromboli at 400°F for 15 minutes, then lower the temperature to 375°F and bake for an additional 25 minutes until golden and cheesy goodness oozes from the slits.
  • Cool and Serve: Allow the stromboli to cool on the pan for approximately 10 minutes, then slice along the slits. Enjoy immediately while hot or at room temperature.
