Delicious sweet potato dumplings perfect for a savory or sweet treat - easy and delightful.
Ingredients:
  • 2 (8 ounce) packages refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 32 ounces frozen sweet potato patties
  • 1 cup finely chopped walnuts
  • 1.5 cups water
  • 1.5 cups sugar
  • 0.5 cup margarine
  • 1.5 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Instructions:
  • Lay out the crescent rolls on a flat surface. Cut the sweet potato patties in half. Roll each half-patty in a crescent roll, ensuring the dough fully covers the patty to create a dumpling. Repeat with the remaining ingredients.
  • Spread walnuts on a plate. Coat dumplings in the nuts, pressing gently to cover the top. Arrange the coated dumplings in a 9x12-inch glass baking dish with the nut side facing up.
  • Preheat the oven to a cozy 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
  • In a heavy saucepan, simmer water, sugar, margarine, cinnamon, and nutmeg until sugar and margarine dissolve, about 3 to 5 minutes. Drizzle the sauce over the dumplings in the baking dish.
  • Bake until bubbly in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes.
