Indulgent egg-free chocolate brownies made vegan with plant-based butter - a delightful treat!
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup water
  • 2.33 cups all-purpose flour, divided
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter
  • 0.67 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 2.5 teaspoons baking powder
  • 0.5 cup chopped walnuts
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to a toasty 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and generously grease a 9x13-inch pan.
  • In a heavy saucepan over medium heat, whisk together water and 1/3 cup flour until thickened. Transfer to a large mixing bowl and let it cool for 15 to 20 minutes.
  • In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Stir in the cocoa until smooth. Remove from the heat and allow to cool for about 15 minutes.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the remaining 2 cups of flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Combine sugar and vanilla with the cooled flour-water mixture using an electric mixer until fully blended. Incorporate the cocoa mixture, then add the dry flour mixture and stir until just combined. Gently fold in the walnuts and spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow to cool before cutting into 20 squares.
