Ingredients:
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup buttermilk
  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1.5 teaspoons baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) while giving your cookie sheets a light, welcoming grease.
  • Combine the shortening, peanut butter, white sugar, brown sugar, and buttermilk until the mixture is smooth and well blended.
  • Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt with the peanut butter mixture, mixing until fully incorporated.
  • Spoon cookie dough onto greased baking sheet, leaving 2 inches of space between each cookie. Press down gently on each cookie with a floured fork. Bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 10 to 12 minutes.
