Decadent holiday eggnog with rum, whipped cream, and fluffy egg whites for a luscious, velvety texture.
Ingredients:
  • 12 egg yolks
  • 1 (750 milliliter) bottle white rum
  • 1 quart half-and-half cream
  • 1 quart heavy cream
  • 12 egg whites
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Instructions:
  • Combine creamy egg yolks with a generous amount of 2 cups of sugar and a hint of rum in a large bowl. Mix until perfectly blended, then cover and let it chill in the fridge for a full day to intensify the flavors.
  • Gently incorporate the half-and-half into the chilled yolk mixture. Next, in a large bowl, whisk the heavy cream until soft peaks form; then set aside.
  • In a clean bowl, whisk egg whites until thick, gradually adding sugar until peaks form. Gently fold in whipped cream, then fold the mixture into the yolks. Finish by sprinkling the top with nutmeg.
